Before What’s Next: The 2023 Harvest Allocation

There is a moment every year at Granite Ridge Vineyard when our attention begins to shift.

We walk the rows a little more often. We watch the weather a little more closely. We taste the fruit and begin making decisions that will shape wines we won't pour for quite some time.

The 2026 harvest is almost here.

And before another vintage begins its journey from vineyard to cellar, we're opening a limited allocation of wines from a vintage many of you already know well.

The 2023 Harvest Allocation

Beginning September 16, Mahan Family Wines will make 36 cases from our 2023 vintage available through the 2023 Harvest Allocation.

For those who have discovered a favorite among the 2023 wines, this is an opportunity to return to it—and perhaps cellar a few bottles for the celebrations still ahead.

That's one of the pleasures of following wine from vintage to vintage.

Each growing season leaves something different behind. And eventually there comes a point when a wine you've enjoyed at the Speakeasy, shared over dinner or opened with friends becomes a vintage you want to keep around a little longer.

For our avid fans of the 2023 vintage, this allocation is for you.

Wine Club Gets There First

We've always believed Wine Club membership should mean more than receiving wine.

It should mean access.

Beginning Wednesday, September 16, Mahan Family Wine Club members receive first access to the 2023 Harvest Allocation.

Members can select their wines online—or join us that evening behind the Secret Door for the Grand Finale of the 2026 Wednesday Underground at Mahan Speakeasy.

Wine Club Members receive complimentary access to Wednesday Underground using code 2026. Wine is available à la carte throughout the evening; your reservation simply tells us:

Save me a seat.

Subscribers receive access next.

Public access follows, if quantities remain.

Once the 36 allocated cases have found their way into cellars, onto wine racks and toward future tables, the Harvest Allocation closes.

Three Vintages. Three Moments.

Part of what makes this particular September interesting is that we're experiencing three vintages at three very different points in their lives.

2023 is in the bottle, ready to enjoy now or cellar for another occasion.

Later this month, we'll bottle the 2025 vintage, with those wines expected to begin making their way to tables in early October.

And outside at Granite Ridge, the 2026 vintage is still hanging on the vines, approaching harvest.

2023

2025

2026

One ready to be enjoyed. One preparing to leave the cellar. One still being shaped by the vineyard.

It's a wonderful reminder that wine isn't simply something we make once a year.

It's a continuum.

Wine Tastes Different When You Know Where It Comes From

For us, that continuum begins at Granite Ridge Vineyard.

The decisions made in the vineyard eventually become the bottle sitting on a table at Mahan Speakeasy, the wine poured at a celebration, or the bottle someone decides to tuck away at home.

And that's part of the reason we're calling this an allocation.

We want the people who have followed these wines—and especially those who have found a favorite in the 2023 vintage—to have the first opportunity to decide what they'd like to keep.

Maybe it's a few bottles for dinner.

Maybe it's enough to revisit over the next several years.

Or perhaps it's a case destined to become part of celebrations that haven't happened yet.

Before what’s next, save a little of where we’ve been.

Soon we'll be consumed by harvest.

Then comes the cellar.

Then another vintage.

But before all of that, there is a moment to appreciate what is already in the bottle.

The 2023 Harvest Allocation opens September 16.

Public access opens if quantities remain.

And for those of you who already have a favorite from 2023:

Perhaps it's time to put a few away.
