After globe-trotting in search of the world’s finest wines, richest soils, and smartest winemakers, we realized…why not make our own? What started as a hobby quickly turned into a full-blown passion: bringing a taste of A-list wine culture to the Midwest.

We sharpened our skills at UC Davis—the crème de la crème of winemaking schools—and began creating award-winning wines. In 2016, we planted our first vines in Harbor Country, Michigan, and by fall 2020, we celebrated our very first harvest. Our debut vintage? Absolutely stellar—and yes, it earned an award of its own.

At Mahan Family Wines, we’re all about sharing the joy of wine—through exceptional bottles, curated events, and unforgettable wine adventures. It’s about connecting kindred spirits, one sip at a time.
